Hi, I’m Coach Shauna — and I help lifters gain confidence, strength, and clarity. Under the bar. At the table.
I focus on practical coaching for both powerlifting and nutrition. Together, we build habits that stick, fuel performance, and fit your life.
My Coaching Philosophy
Strength isn’t just about what you lift. It’s about how you show up for yourself every day — consistently and with confidence. Nutrition works the same way. It’s not about perfection or strict rules. It’s about habits that actually fit your life and goals.
I believe in a practical, client-centered approach:
- Supportive, not prescriptive. I meet you where you are — whether you’re new to lifting, returning after time away, or refining your nutrition. We focus on what matters most to you. Precision is added only when it benefits performance.
- Integrated for performance. Nutrition and training go hand-in-hand. Together, we plan fueling strategies for heavy training days, recovery, and competition. This includes weight management, pre-lift prep, game-day strategies, and post-competition recovery.
- Empowered decision-making. I give you the tools and confidence to make choices that support your goals. You’ll learn to trust your instincts, build awareness, and feel in control of your nutrition.
- Results that matter. Beyond lifting bigger numbers or hitting macros, you’ll develop self-efficacy, energy, and confidence. Coaching isn’t just about results on paper — it’s about helping you grow stronger, smarter, and more capable every day.
My Background
I didn’t start out naturally strong. For years, I finished last at Nationals. The barbell often felt intimidating. What kept me going wasn’t talent. It was showing up consistently, trusting the process, and building confidence one lift at a time.
Over time, persistence paid off. I’ve represented Team Canada four times and earned World Bench Press Gold in 2024. But the medals aren’t what drive me. What excites me is the daily practice of growth — developing skill, discipline, and resilience through consistent effort.
Nutrition has been just as important on my journey. I grew up cooking, planning meals, and eating well without stress. These habits shaped my coaching philosophy. Nutrition should be simple, practical, and empowering. It fuels performance, supports recovery, and builds confidence. By combining training with smart, sustainable nutrition habits, I’ve been able to reach my best results. I want to help you do the same.
Why I Coach
Starting something new — lifting heavy or managing your nutrition — can feel uncertain. You might wonder if you belong, if you’re doing it right, or if you’ll ever see results. I know that feeling.
My coaching focuses on relatability and empowerment. I help you:
- Build strength safely and confidently
- Fuel your body effectively, without stress or rigid rules
- Develop practical habits that fit your life and goals
- Gain a sense of accomplishment, energy, and self-efficacy
I meet you where you are and hold confidence for you until you grow into it. Together, we navigate lifting and nutrition step by step. This helps you make measurable progress while learning to trust yourself.
A Unique Perspective
Balancing my career as a CPHR with coaching gives me insight into the realities of clients with busy lives. I understand the challenge of juggling work, family, and training. This perspective shapes my programs and nutrition strategies. They are practical, flexible, and results-focused. Progress fits your life, rather than demanding it.
Mentorship & Community
I collaborate with Ryan Fowler (Olympia In Depth) and other coaches to grow the sport of drug-free powerlifting in Canada. Working with me means more than following a program. You join a supportive, motivating community that encourages growth in both lifting and nutrition.
Strength opens doors — to confidence, capability, and new possibilities.
Step into a coaching experience that helps you grow stronger under the bar, smarter about nutrition, and more confident in yourself. Let’s open those doors together.
